Student visa guidance

How student visa and residence permit applications work across our destinations, what each one requires, and what most often causes delay.

Every visa decision rests with a government authority. We prepare and check your documents against the current published requirements and help you plan the timeline. No consultancy โ€” including this one โ€” can guarantee an outcome, and you should treat any that claims otherwise with real caution.

02 The shape of it

How student visa routes work

Destinations differ in the detail, but the structure is consistent. You need an unconditional offer, evidence that you can fund your studies at the level that country sets, health insurance that meets its conditions, and โ€” almost always โ€” an in-person appointment for biometrics or document submission.

The variable that catches most students out is not the paperwork. It is appointment availability. Consulate slots in high-demand countries can be booked out for weeks, and that queue does not care when your semester begins. This is why we plan backwards from your intake date rather than forwards from your offer.

03 Sequence

The stages, in order

  1. 01

    Unconditional offer

Most visa routes cannot start until your offer is unconditional and your deposit is paid.

  2. 02

    Financial evidence

Each destination sets a minimum funds level, reviewed periodically. Some require the money in a blocked account for a set period before you apply.

  3. 03

    Insurance

Health or comprehensive insurance meeting the destination's specific conditions โ€” not simply any travel policy.

  4. 04

    Supporting documents

Medical certificates, police clearance and accommodation evidence, depending on the country.

  5. 05

    Appointment booking

The step most likely to constrain your timeline. Book as soon as you are eligible to.

  6. 06

    Submission and biometrics

Application lodged, fee paid, biometrics given.

  7. 07

    Decision

Processing times vary by season and by country of residence.

  8. 08

    Arrival obligations

Several destinations require a post-arrival step โ€” a residence permit application, medical screening or local registration โ€” within a defined window.

04 By destination

Requirements are country-specific and change. Each destination page carries the current detail.

05 Common questions

Visas and immigration

We prepare and check your document set against the current published requirements, explain the process step by step, and help you plan around appointment availability โ€” which is often the real constraint. The application itself is submitted by you, or by the university where the destination requires that. Decisions rest entirely with the relevant authorities.

It varies by destination and is set by the immigration authority, not by the university, and it is reviewed periodically. Some destinations require the funds to sit in a blocked account. We confirm the current figure and format for your specific destination at application time rather than working from last year's number.
